I loved the world of Ron Popeil and K-Tel! His products, and especially their brilliant, pioneering commercials, were a giant part of the backdrop to my childhood, adolescence and adulthood. I still can recite the entire voiceovers to the original Veg-o-matic and Mr. Microphone commercials. My obsession with infomercials goes directly back to Popeil. In my opinion, he was a genius.
