One type of induction method that you might consider is a foley bulb or cooks catheter! These two devices help to manually open the cervix by putting pressure from the inflated balloon on the cervix. Yep, the very thing your body produces to make contractions stronger also reduces your pain. Pitocin or Syntocinon: given via IV and given in constant high doses. Creates stronger and more frequent contractions vs. oxytocin. Much higher risk of low oxygen for baby. Doesn’t create pain relieving sensations like oxytocin
