Two San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies were recently recognized with the Medal of Lifesaving Award for their heroism. In August, Deputy Coral and Deputy Lehr were on scene of a non-injury solo vehicle collision. This routine call for service quickly changed when the responding tow truck driver experienced a medical emergency and collapsed. Fire and EMS had already cleared from the scene, so it was up to Deputy Coral and Deputy Lehr to use their training and knowledge to try and save his life. A
